About
The Rhythm Behind the Rise
Growing up in a single-parent household, music became my refuge.
It was through music that I felt deeply connected — to my inner world and to the world around me. It was where I felt most at home, within my body, my mind, and my soul.
For a long time, I thought that feeling was magic.
Later, when I went back to school to study music therapy, I learned something that changed everything: it wasn’t magic — it was science. (Though I still think it’s a little bit magic.)
What I had experienced my whole life finally had language. Rhythm engages multiple parts of the brain at once, supporting movement, memory, emotional regulation, and connection. It brings the body and mind into sync in real time.
I also learned how rhythm regulates the nervous system. When we’re overwhelmed, disconnected, or under pressure, our bodies shift into survival mode. Steady, predictable rhythm sends a powerful signal to the brain: you’re safe. It helps quiet the noise and bring us back into balance.
I know this not just because I studied it — but because I’ve lived it.
For me, rhythm became more than music. It became a way to regulate stress, hear myself again, and rise from a place that felt steady and true.
That’s why I created Rhythm & Rise — to help others reconnect with their rhythm and move forward with courage they can trust.
Why Rhythm?
Because it’s in all of us.
Before we had words, we had rhythm. The steady beat of a mother’s heart was our first language. Rhythm grounds us, connects us, and reminds us we’re alive.
But life gets loud — filled with deadlines, expectations, and pressure. We lose track of that steady beat and of knowing how we’re really feeling.
Rhythm brings us back. It quiets the noise, helps reset the nervous system, and creates a sense of safety that ripples into our work, relationships, and overall wellbeing.
Grounded in my training as a board-certified music therapist, I use rhythm and sound intentionally to support nervous system regulation, healing, and connection.
Through individual and group music therapy sessions, experiential keynotes, and wellness workshops, I guide people to:
Reset stress and restore balance
Reclaim their voice and sense of power
Face what’s ahead with confidence and determination
